ETs love cupcakes. Well, they like anything sweet. They travel best on iced tea, with or without pomegranate juice added.
ETs can find really cute places to hang out. They are, as you may have noticed by the cupcake choice, particularly fond of the color pink.
Therefore, the Pink Porch is a prime hunting ground. Wait, what's on those PINK flyers in the windows??
Look closely... they say 50% off entire stock!
No the chandelier did not come home with me. Neither did the punchbowl. However, there were a couple of items that did.
Simon helped to wind them into balls. Well, not everything needed to be wound, so it didn't take the entire evening to get it all wound up.
He wants you to see how good he looks with Noro Transitions, Classic Elite Bravo, and red Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky. There might also have been some sharing of Debbie's Bliss too. However, this post is already too photo-heavy so I'll tease you with a promise to "bare all" soon.
Well, at least we couldn't. It's amazingly freeway-close and accessible, and it's HUGE. I mean, HUGE! They have an amazing selection of all kinds of yarns, from the most basic--more colors of Cascade 220 and Encore than I've seen on this coast--lots and lots of Colinette, Rowan, etc etc. And a world-beating collection of floofy, fun-furry, glittery, shiny, novelty yarns too.
But they weren't having a sale. And ET's been hideously spoiled, and besides the thing she liked best was the Colinette Cadenza and it came in three colors she couldn't decide among. When faced with a difficult choice, ET often will refuse to choose and just pick up her marbles and go home.
What a weekend. And it's only Saturday night! It's been rumored that there is an outing planned for tomorrow as well, but we'll just have to wait to see if it comes off first.

Holy cow!!! That's a lot of bargain yarn! It was nothing short of reasonable that it find its way to your home. What if you'd waited? It would have been full-price and then where would you be? It was very sensible of you to purchase it and also give Simon a nice new hobby.
I'm still working on justifying the cupcake. But, then again, does one really need to justify a pink cupcake? Some things were just meant to be...
I've yet to make it to LPK. One of these days though. Purl Soho was fun but they don't seem to have sales. I tried to buy some stuff at Web's but they were sold out of the color I wanted. I guess I could say that I had saved some money. Besides there's this huge stash that I think contains something that will be just great for the project I have in mind. SIT reopens tomorrow. I'll be there but maybe not glad about it.
Sounds like a great day. I didn't know LPK was having a sale.
Your ET knows how to have a good time! I like her. :)
Wow, three yarn stores in one day? Lucky ET! And now you've made me hungry and my inner ET is looking for yarn sales.
Our ETs should hang out some time...
Awesome recap of our awesome fun.
Hurrah for ETs!
Swoon! What a great haul; ET is truly gifted. I'm so bummed; I was actually in OC while you were also! So glad you had a great yarn crawl so I wouldn't be tempted!
Wow! That was the BEST POST ever!!! So inspiring. I'm so bummed I couldn't go with you to OC on Saturday...it would have been waaay more fun than what I did. Sigh.
I want cupcakes, a Cobb salad and Noro Transitions for lunch, please!
What a FABULOUS day you all had!! All that food and pink cupcake makes me very hungry. And, nice yarny score!
BTW, LOVE Archy your adopted cat. I played with him this morning, he is so cute!
